Historically, when a monthly wash pass customer had a failed renewal of their wash membership, the customer would receive a text message with a link asking them to update their payment information. The Dencar system would then attempt recharges every 48 hours for 2 weeks with reminder texts on each failed attempt. During the 2 week period, the wash pass was still able to be used. If the attempted payment was never successful, the membership would expire. However, upon a successful payment, the wash membership would be recovered and the membership would then bill their next renewal a month from the recovery date. There is no change to this texting process, but we do have enhancements for the overall process using a new service called VIA Token.
VIA Token is a feature that will collect new payment information for any member in a failed renewal state on their membership on the pay station. This occurs on the pay station when the member comes to the car wash kiosk. The VIA Token flow will load new credit card information into the member's account and the new card will be charged on the next run of the membership billing (this kicks off daily at 11:00AM Eastern). Additionally, the member's renewal date will be reset to the original date of the membership for future renewals instead of a month from renewal.
Please note, older pay station controllers will need to be updated to take advantage of this VIA Token flow.

Here is an instructional video showing you how to turn on VIA Token.
